I haven’t used this unit much yet, but since I’ve seen lots of questions regarding solar chargers and powerbanks lately, I wanted to get some information and photos posted.
The RoamProof SOS20K Portable Solar Powerbank & Package includes:
- SOS20K Solar Charger
- 20,000 mAh
- IP67 Dust and water proof rating (dust tight and waterproof up to 1 meter and 30 minutes of immersion)
- 3-in-1 LED with SOS signaling
- 50Kn Steel Carabiner
- 4 Braided Nylon, Aluminum Cased USB Charging/Date Cables (2 Lightening, 2 micro-usb)
- 1 Waterproof Cable Case
- 30-Day Money Back Guarantee and Limited 2 Year Manufacturers Warranty
First Impressions:
- Seems like a well-made, heavy duty unit that will stand up to abuse.
- The unit is heavy at 17+ oz, but if the 20,000 mAh rating is accurate, I believe the weight is worth it. I typically carry a Delorme, camera, phone and light that all need to be charged with a powerbank. 20,000 mAH should last me 2 weeks based on my useage.
- The carabiner could be useful in a survival or prepper situation, but it is on the heavy side (6+ oz). I think most backpackers will want a lightweight option for for attaching the unit to a pack.
- The unit did not include operation instructions. I had to find them online. These should be included.
